The annual Pirate Takeover Day at Captain Cook Birthplace Museum is back, promising an unforgettable adventure for visitors of all ages.
On Saturday, 10th August, the museum will transform into a swashbuckling paradise, filled with costumed pirates parading both inside the museum and throughout its scenic grounds. This fun-filled day is packed with activities designed to engage and entertain the whole family.
Visitors can dive into the pirate-themed festivities with a variety of interactive experiences. Children and adults alike can test their agility on the inflatable assault course, challenge their creativity with pirate crafts, and get into character with themed face painting. There’s something for everyone, from treasure hunts to engaging games that will have participants feeling like they’ve stepped into a real pirate’s life.
Pirate Takeover Day is part of Middlesbrough Museums’ impressive Summer Programme, which is designed to bring the community together and offer enriching activities throughout the season. The programme continues with a series of exciting events, ensuring that there’s always something new to explore:
- The Big Science Workshop: On Saturday, 17th August, the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum will host a hands-on science workshop, where participants can engage in experiments and discover the wonders of science.
