Darlington residents of all ages are being invited to help plant around 8,500 spring-flowering bulbs during the October half-term.
The community project will work around more than 100 trees in Stanhope Park, North Lodge Park and North Park. Council parks staff will be joined by residents, Friends groups, volunteers and councillors across a series of free planting sessions.
Alongside bringing colour from late winter into early summer, the planting is intended to support and pollinators. Organisers also hope people will return to the trees they helped plant around and watch the spaces change through the seasons.
