Good news, local voices and a stronger Tees Valley.
The Tees is a community group that finds, aggregates and shares positive news stories from across Tees Valley.
We cover Teesside and the wider Tees Valley with a deliberately constructive lens. That does not mean pretending problems do not exist. It means giving more oxygen to progress, participation, creativity, recovery, community action and the people doing useful things close to home.
What The Tees is for
The aim is simple: help local people discover what is happening around them, find organisations and opportunities, share stories that deserve a wider audience and build a more connected sense of place.
How we source stories
Our newer editorial stories include a named source and, where appropriate, a link back to the original information. Images taken from partner, council or organisation sources remain attributed to that source or the named photographer.
Community journalism
You do not need to be a professional journalist to contribute. The Tees is designed to make space for community voices, lived experience and stories that can easily be missed by traditional news cycles.
