People in Darlington who find online services difficult to use are being offered practical help through a new between the town’s adult learning service and local GP practices.
Learning & Skills Darlington has teamed up with Darlington Network to build NHS App training into its digital skills courses. All 11 GP practices across Darlington will promote the courses to patients who face barriers to getting online.
The courses are free to most local adults and cover everyday skills including using a computer, managing files, word processing, browsing the internet and staying safe online. From September, learners will also get help setting up and using the NHS App, including managing prescriptions, booking appointments and viewing health records.
The partnership is designed to make healthcare easier to access while giving people broader digital skills that can help with education, work and day-to-day life.
More information about the courses is available from Learning & Skills Darlington on 01325 405601 or through Darlington Borough Council’s digital skills pages.
