NHS staff from across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire have been celebrated at the first Caring Better Together Awards, with nominations coming from patients, families, members of the public and colleagues.
The event brought shortlisted staff and the people who nominated them together at Teesside University’s Digital Life centre. Awards were presented across 15 categories, recognising work ranging from excellence and leadership to support roles and volunteering.
Among the winners was the South Tees COPD team, while special recognition also went to individuals whose work has improved leadership, opportunities and patient experience. The awards created a public thank-you for the often less-visible work that keeps local health services moving.
