A £720,000 construction project is currently in progress at the University Hospital of Hartlepool to replace the ageing roof on the main block. Work is scheduled for completion in May, weather permitting.

NTH Solutions, the trust’s estates management subsidiary, is managing the installation. The hospital has advised patients and staff to be aware of construction equipment on site and to follow local signage while the work is carried out.

Glen Newby, head of design and development at NTH Solutions, that some noise and disturbance would be unavoidable during the project but stated that efforts are being made to keep disruption to a minimum.

Medical director Deepak Dwarakanath noted that the investment ensures the hospital can continue to provide regional healthcare services for the long term.
