People in Saltburn are being invited to spend a September morning looking out across the North Sea for dolphins, other marine mammals and seabirds.
Tees Valley Wildlife Trust will hold a free social sea watch at Saltburn Fossil Garden on Sunday 20 September, from 10.30am until noon.
The relaxed gathering brings Trust volunteers together with both experienced sea watchers and complete beginners. The clifftop meeting point, beside Saltburn’s Victorian cliff lift, looks across the beach, North Sea and Huntcliff Nature Reserve.
Families are welcome and there is no need to book. Visitors can stay for the full session or drop in for part of it. The meeting point is fully wheelchair accessible, dogs can attend on a lead and free parking is available on Marine Parade.
Anyone who owns binoculars is encouraged to bring them, along with clothing suitable for the weather.
The event is part of the Trust’s programme helping people discover the wildlife found along the Tees coast.
