Teesside International Airport has announced plans to resume passenger flights on 22 June following a temporary closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. The airport will reinstate daily services to Aberdeen and Belfast, with new flights to Newquay scheduled to begin on 6 July.

The airport is implementing a series of health and safety protocols during this initial phase. Access to the terminal is currently restricted to travelling passengers and staff only, with taxi drivers required to wait outside. New measures include social distancing, contactless payment, and the of face masks.

Work continues at the site, with a new business park development underway. The airport is also currently establishing itself as a maintenance hub for global aviation firm Willis Asset Management.
