Alice House Hospice is taking a new fundraising idea onto the golf course this September, with two local businesses helping to build a day that will support hospice care for patients and families.
The charity’s first event of this format takes place at Ramside Hall on Tuesday 8 September, in with Property Webmasters and Devato.
Eighteen four-ball teams are being invited to take part. The day starts at 9am and includes breakfast, an afternoon meal, challenges around the course and prizes.
Team entry costs £500, while businesses can also support the event through sponsorship packages ranging from £100 to £500. The hospice is accepting raffle and auction prizes too.
The business partnership has a local thread. Alice House describes Property Webmasters and Devato as local businesses, and Property Webmasters has supported the hospice through previous fundraising activity.
Alice House provides specialist care and support to people affected by life-limiting illness or bereavement in Hartlepool, the wider Tees Valley and East Durham. The hospice says it costs £3.7 million a year to fund its services, with fundraising needed to bridge the gap between funding and the full cost of care.
That turns a corporate golf day into something more practical: another way for local employers and their teams to put money behind a service used by families across the area.
The golf day begins at 9am on Tuesday 8 September at Ramside Hall. Booking and sponsorship details are available from Alice House Hospice. The date and fundraising purpose were also checked against the hospice’s current events listing.
