A dance-theatre solo exploring migration, belonging and identity will come to ARC Stockton on Saturday 5 September, with audiences able to decide what they pay after seeing the performance.

Windows of Displacement, created and performed by Akeim Toussaint Buck, brings together dance, spoken word and song. The work draws partly on Buck's own journey from Jamaica to the UK while looking more widely at borders, colonial histories and the experience of trying to make a home across cultures.

The performance does not treat migration as an abstract subject. ARC describes it as a personal work that moves through questions of home, memory, displacement and identity, using Buck's body and voice as the centre of the storytelling.

The show begins at 7pm and is recommended for ages 12 and over. Anyone under 16 must attend with an adult.

It is part of ARC's Pay What You Decide programme. There is no fixed ticket price in advance; audiences can reserve a place and choose what to pay after the performance. ARC says the is intended to make theatre and dance easier to try while still allowing audiences to support the artists whose work they have seen.

That makes the September performance both a piece of contemporary dance and a relatively low-risk way for someone who does not usually book dance or theatre to give it a go.

Performance and accessibility information is available from ARC Stockton Arts Centre.
