Stockton workshop turns wool into handmade bookmarks this September

A relaxed needle-felting workshop at ARC Stockton will give adults the chance to make a bookmark and take home the tools and leftover materials to keep creating.

A small pile of wool, a needle and a bit of patience could become the start of a new hobby in Stockton this September.

ARC Stockton Arts Centre is hosting a needle-felting workshop on Saturday 19 September, where local artist Carol Lonsdale will guide adults through making their own felted bookmark.

The session starts at 10.30am and costs £21. All materials are provided, and participants can take their needles and any leftover materials home afterwards so the making does not have to stop when the workshop ends.

ARC says the workshops are designed to be relaxed and hands-on, with step-by-step guidance. The monthly sessions feature different projects, giving people the chance to build up their skills over time.

The workshop is for ages 18 and over. ARC also operates a companion ticket scheme for disabled visitors who need someone to accompany them.
