A North East filmmaker will see his work on the big screen in Stockton this September as part of a series designed to give regional talent a proper cinema platform.

ARC Stockton's Local Heroes programme will screen Andy Berriman's short film Giants on Thursday 10 September, pairing it with the classic Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

The idea behind Local Heroes is simple: put new work by North East filmmakers alongside a film that helped inspire it. Berriman will also take part in a question-and-answer session with ARC's Mark Donaldson.

Giants follows an isolated teenager scavenging for scrap in a post-industrial town who finds an unexpected sense of purpose after meeting a conspiracy theorist.

The double begins at 7pm. ARC lists adult tickets at £7 and concessions at £6, including booking fee, with some supported ticket types available from £4 plus booking fee.
