Community organisations in Stockton-on-Tees have until 5pm on Friday 30 October 2026 to apply for grants of up to £30,000 through the borough council's Crisis and Fund.
The council has £300,000 to its Community Programme for 2026–27. The money is intended for voluntary, community and organisations that can help residents become more financially and reduce their risk of hardship.
Who can apply?
organisations must be not-for-profit and either based in the borough or delivering services to its residents. They need an appropriate governing document, management arrangements, financial controls and relevant and equality policies. Groups may apply individually or work together on a joint proposal.
Individuals, profit-making businesses, political organisations and or public-sector bodies are not eligible. Projects should address an unmet local need and complement existing advice and support, rather than duplicate it.
What could the grants support?
The fund is aimed at strengthening households' ability to manage financial shocks. The council highlights issues including debt and income pressures, , financial education, disability and , and the value of community support networks.
Eligible costs can include staff delivering the project, volunteer expenses, equipment, venue hire, training, transport, food linked to activities and outreach. A grant can cover all eligible project costs up to the £30,000 cap or contribute towards a larger package of funding.
How to apply by 30 October
Applicants must complete the council's form and it with supporting documents to crisisresiliencefund@stockton.gov.uk before 5pm on Friday 30 October. Required includes a governing document, details of trustees or directors, recent accounts or management accounts, and relevant policies and accreditations.
The council says groups that cannot provide every document should contact it, as their application may still be considered. Proposals are assessed on evidence of need, fit with the fund, , delivery capacity and value for money. The council expects eligible applications to be assessed by 16 November.
