A North Ormesby pub is turning its bank holiday weekend into a fundraiser for a Teesside charity supporting autistic and people and their families.

The Jovial Monk on Kings Road will host a family fun and games day for MAIN on Sunday 30 August, starting at 11am.

The day includes a sponsored motorbike ride led by Road Krakens MCC, travelling between 26 Craft pubs across the region, alongside live music, a disco, food stalls, games, raffles and family activities.

MAIN provides support for autistic and neurodivergent children, young people and adults, as well as people with learning disabilities and complex needs. The charity says it has supported more than 5,500 young people since 2020.

There is no grand mechanism behind the fundraiser. People can turn up, join the activities and contribute what they can, with money raised going towards MAIN’s work with local families.

The charity and RCVDA have both published details of the event, while Craft Union lists the Jovial Monk as a North Ormesby community pub at Kings Road, Middlesbrough, TS3 6NQ.
