Young people interested in what happens behind the stage as well as on it can join a free Middlesbrough programme that puts them in charge of creating a live event.

Musinc’s Young Producers is for 15 to 21-year-olds and runs on Tuesdays from 7.15pm to 8.30pm at Middlesbrough Town Hall. The new programme begins in September and is free to join.

Rather than learning event production only in theory, the group works together to plan something it genuinely wants to put on. Industry specialists help participants develop skills in event planning, marketing, budgeting and artist management, with access to a project budget and careers support.

Previous Young Producers have helped create events including Town Hall Takeover and Boro Sounds, giving emerging local performers a stage while young organisers gain practical experience behind the scenes.

Musinc says financial support is available for access needs.
