A community choir built around singing for fun is returning to Middlesbrough Town Hall this autumn, with weekly sessions running from September through to the end of November.
MTH Community Choir is led by opera singers Emily Smith and Dave Pisaro and is designed to be friendly and accessible, whether people already sing regularly or simply fancy giving it a go.
The sessions mix world and folk music with operatic and musical theatre songs, while helping members develop vocal technique and sing alongside other people. The group has also performed at events across the region, including concerts at Middlesbrough Town Hall, Ripon Cathedral and Middlesbrough’s Christmas Big Sing.
The autumn programme begins on Monday 7 September 2026 at Middlesbrough Town Hall. Sessions are listed at 6.30pm and cost £5 including the booking fee. Further Monday sessions are currently listed through to 30 November, with tickets available for the September dates at the time of checking.
For anyone looking for a low-pressure way to make music, learn something new and meet people, it is a straightforward weekly invitation: turn up, find your voice and add it to the room.
Full dates, availability and booking information are available from Middlesbrough Box Office.
