A new six-week programme of free dance fitness classes is starting in Redcar this Friday, aimed at adults who want to move more without the pressure of a traditional gym or formal dance class.
Vibe Dance Fitness will run at Newcomen Methodist Church Community Hall on Mersey Road every Friday from 2 October to 6 November 2026, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
The sessions are completely free for adults aged 18 and over. Places are funded through the Community and the programme is being delivered locally in partnership with Footprints in the Community.
Vibe describes the classes as beginner-friendly and follow-along, with people encouraged to adapt movements, stay low impact, take breaks and work at their own level. No dance experience is needed and there is no requirement to attend every week.
Each session has up to 30 funded places. Comfortable clothes, suitable footwear and a drink of water are all participants need to bring.
The first session takes place on Friday 2 October. People can read the full details and reserve a free place at Vibe Dance Fitness's Redcar programme page.
