A weekly Afrobeats dance class is giving adults in Stockton a low-cost way to move, learn new routines and build confidence this September.
Dance Beats runs at ARC, Stockton Arts Centre on Wednesdays at 6pm, with September sessions beginning on 2 September. Sessions cost £5 and are open to people aged 18 and over.
ARC describes the class as fast-paced but friendly, with the emphasis on feeling good rather than getting every step perfect. No previous dance experience is required and routines can be adapted so newcomers and more experienced dancers can take part together.
The sessions are led by local dance artist Teissy, founder of ID4Me in Hardwick. Participants are advised to wear comfortable clothing and supportive trainers and bring a water bottle.
Dates, booking information and accessibility details are available from ARC, Stockton Arts Centre.
