Stockton-on-Tees is set to become one of the first places in the UK to see autonomous delivery robots operating for Deliveroo.
Coco Robotics has included Stockton in its UK launch alongside locations including Canary Wharf, Leeds, Milton Keynes and Nottingham. The company’s fully electric robots are designed for short urban journeys and travel at walking pace while carrying customer orders.
The rollout is also expected to involve local operational , including charging and depot facilities. For Stockton, it puts a very visible piece of emerging delivery technology directly onto local streets rather than keeping it confined to a test site.
