Some of the songs that helped define the Carpenters’ sound will be heard live in Darlington this week as a touring tribute arrives at the Hippodrome.
A Tribute to the Carpenters is at Darlington Hippodrome at 7.30pm on Thursday 3 September. The production features Gordy Marshall’s The British Carpenters, with Sally Creedon performing as Karen Carpenter and a cast of musicians drawn from London’s West End.
The set celebrates the music of Karen and Richard Carpenter, with songs including Close to You, Top of the World, Rainy Days and Mondays, Please Mr Postman and Goodbye to Love.
Darlington Hippodrome lists an approximate running time of two hours and 20 minutes. Tickets are available through the venue, with prices varying by seating area.
