Teesside University expands creative degree partnership with Portuguese college

Four more Teesside University creative degrees are expected to be taught in Portugal from October as a seven-year partnership with ETIC_Algarve grows.

A linking Middlesbrough with Portugal's is set to grow again, with four additional Teesside University degrees expected to be delivered by ETIC_Algarve from October.

The two institutions have worked together since 2019. ETIC_Algarve already delivers Teesside University's Games Design and Games Development programmes and, subject to final approval, will add top-up degrees in Digital Media and Communications, TV and Film Production, Music Production and Photography.

The relationship also includes opportunities for international placements and internships in both Portugal and the UK, creating another route for students and graduates to gain experience outside their home country.

Teesside University says the expansion is intended to combine its academic programmes with ETIC_Algarve's industry-focused teaching across design, communication, audiovisual work, music and technology.

For Teesside, it is a quietly export of local expertise. A partnership that began seven years ago is now connecting Middlesbrough's creative education sector with a growing network of students and employers in the Algarve.
