Thousands of young people across Teesside are set to receive a careers guide designed to show just how many routes into work exist close to home.
Tees Skills is returning for a third edition, with 10,000 copies of its 2026/27 publication due to be distributed across Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Redcar and Cleveland, Darlington and Hartlepool.
The guide is aimed mainly at 14 to 18-year-olds, alongside parents, guardians, teachers and careers advisers. It will feature employers, industries, training opportunities and different routes into work across sectors including engineering, construction, manufacturing, digital, professional services and healthcare.
Businesses already supporting the new edition include CF Fertilisers, PD Ports, Esh Group and law firm Muckle. Other employers are now being invited to take part before the booking deadline on 25 September.
Tees Business, which publishes the guide, says the idea is to challenge the assumption that ambitious young people have to leave the area to build successful careers.
The publication is expected to young people through universities, colleges, secondary schools, education trusts and businesses. Tees Business says the wider area has 68 secondary schools educating around 50,000 pupils, including roughly 10,000 Year 11 students.
The 2026/27 edition is due to be published on 20 October.
