Stockton Globe is bringing Tees Folk back this September, with a line-up that puts North East voices alongside some of the best-known names in contemporary British folk.

The 2026 event takes place on Saturday 19 September and will be headlined by The Unthanks, appearing at the Globe for the first time with their full 10-piece live band.

There is a strong Teesside thread running through the rest of the . Middlesbrough singer-songwriter Amelia Coburn returns after appearing at the first Tees Folk event in 2023. Since then, she has completed a sold-out UK headline tour and supported artists including Paul Weller, Suzanne Vega and The Proclaimers.

East Cleveland musician Dale Husband, performing as Glad Town Ghost, will open the evening. His songs draw on post-industrial North East landscapes and local storytelling, giving the programme a distinctly regional starting point before it stretches further across the folk scene.

Guitarist and songwriter John Smith also joins the bill. His own tour schedule confirms the Stockton date, while the official Globe listing places him between Glad Town Ghost and Amelia Coburn before The Unthanks close the night.

Doors at Stockton Globe's Link venue are due to open at 5pm, with the first set starting at 6.15pm. The published running order is Glad Town Ghost at 6.15pm, John Smith at 7pm, Amelia Coburn at 8pm and The Unthanks from 9.15pm.

It is another useful reminder that Stockton's live music calendar is doing more than simply bringing touring names through town. Tees Folk gives artists with deep roots in the North East a place on the same bill as established national acts, in one of the region's biggest restored venues.

: The date, venue, running order and artist line-up were checked against the official Stockton Globe listing and the ATG Tickets event page. John Smith's appearance is also listed on his official website.
