Stockton’s music scene gets another night in the spotlight this September, with two Teesside bands joining a four-act at ARC.

Soundcheck returns to the Dovecot Street arts centre on Thursday 10 September, bringing together Dossers, Northern Hospitality, Risco and Rose Malus. The series was set up to give emerging original artists from the Tees Valley and wider North East a regular stage and the chance to new audiences.

Teesside grunge-punk band Dossers arrive with a growing live reputation after appearances including the BBC Introducing stage at Waves, Twisterella and Stockton Calling. Stockton trio Risco are also on the bill, following an appearance at Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival.

Northern Hospitality have had a busy summer, including Kendal Calling and support slots alongside established acts, while Rose Malus open the evening with their alt-rock and indie sound.

ARC says Soundcheck is designed around discovery rather than familiarity, encouraging audiences to turn up for a full night of new music rather than only one name on the poster. Previous editions have featured George Bailey, Melanie Baker, Nice Guy, Alex Lyons and Jake Diaz.

The September show starts at 7.30pm. ARC lists advance tickets at £10, with £12 on the door, including booking fee. The event is for ages 14 and over, with under-16s accompanied by an adult.
