People who want more of a say in what happens in their neighbourhood have seven different routes into Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s community network.

The partnerships cover Billingham, Ingleby Barwick, Norton, Stockton West, Stockton Central, Thornaby and Stockton Rural, which includes Eaglescliffe, Yarm and surrounding villages.

Each group has support from a Community Officer and meets regularly to co-ordinate local activity. The council says the partnerships are intended to build stronger community networks and help tackle issues including , isolation and loneliness.

This is less about turning up to one and more about having a continuing local forum where residents and organisations can share what they are seeing, connect work already happening and shape priorities over time.

Catalyst Stockton highlighted the opportunity this month, and the details have been checked against Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s own community partnership page.
