A Middlesbrough town-centre workspace has given its street frontage a new look after receiving £2,000 through a council scheme supporting local businesses.
Rede House Business Space, on Corporation Road, used the funding for a makeover including new signage and a darker frontage as it works to attract tenants and customers.
The centre offers a mix of short-term leases, office space, hot desking and daily room hire.
Co-director Lisa Devanny told Middlesbrough Council that the had helped transform the front of the building and said improvements by neighbouring businesses were beginning to give the area more of a community feel.
The funding came through Middlesbrough Council's shopfront improvement scheme, which has also supported businesses including salons, bars and restaurants to improve the appearance and safety of their premises.
Small physical changes can matter on a town-centre street. Better-used premises, active frontages and businesses all help turn stretches of commercial space into places where people have a reason to stop rather than simply pass through.
