Community groups in Redcar and Cleveland will be able to sit down with major funders and talk through their ideas at a free Funders Fair on Thursday 24 September.

The event is being organised by Enhance Redcar & Cleveland at the 25K Community Centre in Redcar. It is aimed at voluntary organisations across the borough, including charities, CICs, community groups, sports clubs and groups that are not formally registered.

A dozen funding and support organisations are currently listed, including the National Lottery, Greggs Foundation, Teesside Charity, Key Fund, Lloyds Foundation, Woodsmith Foundation, Sported and Northern Powergrid Foundation.

The format is more practical than a conventional information fair. Organisations can book appointments with up to four funders, giving them a chance to discuss an idea directly, ask questions and get feedback before putting together an application. Places are limited to two people from each organisation.

A morning session runs from 10am to 12.30pm, with a separate afternoon session beginning at 1pm. Organisations are asked to choose one of the two rather than book both.

Enhance was established to provide voluntary and community organisations in Redcar and Cleveland with information, advice, training and support around areas including funding, and volunteering. Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency has previously confirmed the and funding behind the service.

The fair is free, but places are limited and booking is required. The morning session is listed by Enhance on Eventbrite.
