A new multi-sports bar and entertainment venue is preparing to open in the heart of Middlesbrough later this month.
Pitch! Sports Bar is due to open on Monday 21 September at 12-13 Exchange Walk, in the former Bar Fresco building opposite STACK and beneath the A66.
The two-floor venue will centre on a 23ft LED screen spanning both levels, backed by 27 anti-glare televisions. The set-up is designed to allow up to six sports to be shown at once, including football, darts, Formula 1, rugby and boxing.
Upstairs, visitors will also find two sports simulators and interactive darts, alongside a mezzanine viewing area overlooking the main screen.
The project is being led by Teesside-headquartered Pneuma Group. Chief executive Steve Brooke said the company wanted Pitch! to be more than somewhere to watch live sport, combining hospitality with interactive sports experiences and creating local employment opportunities and community links.
The venue will serve a sports-bar menu including burgers, wings, tenders, nachos, salads, sharing food and children's options. A free Pitch! app will allow customers to book seats and activities and order food and drink, while five VIP booths will also be available to reserve.
Journalists have been invited to a pre-opening visit on Thursday 17 September, ahead of the public opening on Monday 21 September.
