Community organisations in Middlesbrough have several funding opportunities to act on over the next fortnight, alongside a free workshop designed to help groups find other grants and improve their applications.
Middlesbrough Council currently lists three near-term deadlines for groups. Its Improving Local Food Supplies grants offer up to £2,000 for activity that benefits the local food system or increases access to healthy, or locally produced food. That round closes at midnight on Monday 31 August.
The council’s Community Fund can provide up to £1,000 for specific projects, including new pilot activity, expansion of an existing project or equipment. Applications for the current round close at 10am on Monday 7 September.
A separate Lady Crosthwaite Fund supports work that helps people over 55 in Middlesbrough their independence and continue living at home. Its current deadline is 10am on Monday 14 September.
Groups that are unsure where to look next can also use Find a Funder, an online search service run by Middlesbrough Council with Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency. It searches funding opportunities from government, the National Lottery, charitable trusts and other .
The next free Find a Funder workshop is at Marton Community Hub and Library on Tuesday 8 September from 10am to noon. Middlesbrough Council says the sessions include live funding searches and advice on applications. MVDA’s event listing names Sharon Barker from the council and John Atkinson from MVDA as the session leads.
