Middlesbrough College has given its apprenticeship and -training arm a new identity after asking thousands of people what its next chapter should look like.
Northern Skills will now operate as MC Apprenticeships & Training, bringing the service more clearly under the Middlesbrough College name.
The change follows with more than 6,000 as part of the college’s Vision 2030 work. The college says the feedback showed strong recognition of its apprenticeship but also an opportunity to make the relationship with the wider college clearer.
The training arm supports apprentices and employers across a wide range of industries. Middlesbrough College currently offers more than 50 apprenticeship standards and says its apprenticeship achievement place it among the top-performing general colleges nationally.
The new name does not replace the offer. The college says the same apprenticeship, workforce training and bespoke employer support will continue under the more closely aligned identity.
