The 2024 Hemlington Family Fun Day is set to be a day of delight for families across the community, packed with free activities and entertainment.
This year, the event will take place on Saturday, 10th August, in a brand-new location—the vibrant Viewley Hill Shopping Centre, including the nearby Hemlington Library Hub and Habinteg Centre.
Children and young people can look forward to a range of exhilarating activities, including an inflatable bungee run, a football dribble and shoot, a bouncy castle, and even a giant submarine! There will also be opportunities to pick up some impressive new talents in the circus skills workshops or be mesmerised by giant bubbles. A talented face painter will be on hand to add a dash of colour to the day.
Donkey rides will delight the little ones on the grassy areas between 11 am and 1 pm, offering a charming experience for all.
For the whole family, a variety of stalls will be set up, offering something for everyone, while the Happy Sapid Café and an ice cream van will be on-site to keep everyone refreshed.
Running from 10 am to 2 pm, the event is organised by dedicated volunteers from Hemlington Community Council and generously supported by funding from Thirteen Group.
Michael Heslehurst, Chair of Hemlington Community Council, shared his enthusiasm: “This is always a fantastic community event where local children and their families can come together and enjoy a great day out, with all activities being free. This year, we have moved the Fun Day to the Viewley Hill Shopping Centre and its surroundings to support our local businesses. It’s been wonderful to see the excitement building in Hemlington ahead of the day.”
