Cheer Starz Academy Enriches Summer for SEND Children and Families in Middlesbrough

The Cheer Starz academy in Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, has made this summer unforgettable for children and their families through its dedicated programs.

As part of “Bring it on Boro,” the town’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) program, Cheer Starz has offered specialized sessions for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), creating a fun and inclusive environment.

Pauline Cofinas, the founder and director of Cheer Starz, expressed her joy at the enthusiastic participation of families.

“It’s been excellent to see how some families have been fairly reserved when they’ve arrived and before too long we’ve had dads joining in. Everyone has enjoyed each others’ company, it’s gone really well.”

The academy’s mission is to help young people build confidence, forge new friendships, and learn valuable skills. Known for competing on the world stage, Cheer Starz is committed to providing life-changing experiences. Pauline added, “I want children to have life-changing experiences, whether that’s by building their confidence, trying different foods or being inspired by the people they meet.”

The HAF program, funded by the Department for Education, is designed to provide engaging activities, exciting trips, and healthy meals for children during the school holidays. It aims to ensure that all children have access to enriching experiences outside of school terms.

Cheer Starz’s involvement in HAF reflects its dedication to community engagement and the well-being of young people. By offering a platform where children can explore their potential and families can connect and have fun, Cheer Starz is fostering a supportive community spirit.
