Teesside University has been named among the institutions shortlisted for University of the Year in the new Daily Mail University Guide. The guide ranks the university 66th overall out of 128 institutions.

The selection panel highlighted several key areas of performance, including graduate employment , student support services, social inclusion, and professional apprenticeship . Nearly three-quarters of the university's graduates move into highly-skilled roles.

Alastair McCall, editor of the guide, noted that the university’s commitment to social inclusion and its degree apprenticeship scheme, which supports nearly 3,000 students, were factors in the shortlisting. The institution recently expanded its work-focused by opening a London campus.

The university has invested £280m into its campus facilities in recent years. Professor Paul Croney, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, stated that the recognition reflects the institution’s focus on helping students from all backgrounds access .
