Teesside University has reached the shortlist for the Investors in People (IiP) Gold Employer of the Year award. The recognition acknowledges the university's efforts in supporting its staff and investing in the development of its , known as Team Teesside.

The nomination follows the university's submission, which highlighted investment in student support teams and the creation of new career pathways for academic staff. The institution also maintains the North East Better Health at Work Award and has signed the Race at Work Charter.

Juliet Amos, Executive Director of Human Resources at the university, stated that the shortlisting reflects the hard work of the university community. She added that it provides of the institution’s commitment to its employees.

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, mentioned that the 2022 awards saw a high volume of entries. noted that reaching the final stage is a reflection of the commitment organisations are making to improve the workplace for their staff.

The winners of the 2022 Investors in People awards are scheduled to be announced at a ceremony in London on 15 November.
