Hogg Global Logistics, a freight-forwarding company in Hartlepool, has become the 1,000th business to sign up for the TeesValleyCareers.com . The firm, which recently won the Best New Business award at the Tees Businesswomen Awards, has pledged to offer careers support to local students.
The project, launched by the Tees Valley Mayor in 2018, aims to provide guidance and work experience to 100,000 students aged 11-18. that students who engage with local businesses four or more times are less likely to face unemployment and typically see a 22% increase in earnings.
Lyndsay Hogg, founder and CEO of Hogg Global Logistics, expressed her commitment to nurturing local talent and providing visible role models for the next generation of workers in the shipping industry.
The scheme reached its milestone during National Careers Week, ahead of a virtual Careers Expo scheduled for 18 March. Businesses interested in providing work placements or career advice can register their interest through the official Tees Valley Careers portal.
