A lantern-lit walk along Seaton Carew seafront will bring people together this September to remember loved ones and support local hospice care.
Alice House Hospice’s Starlight Memory Stroll takes place on Saturday 26 September, starting at 7pm from Hornby Park. The sponsored 5K route follows the seafront before returning to the starting point.
Each participant receives a handheld lantern, a bottle of water and a bacon sandwich on their return. The idea is simple: people walk together in memory of someone important to them, while raising money for the care and support provided by Alice House Hospice.
A local event with a quiet purpose
The hospice serves people and families across Hartlepool and the surrounding area. Money raised through the stroll will help support its specialist care services.
The event page currently describes the 2026 walk as the “first-ever” Starlight Memory Stroll, but Alice House also published details of a Starlight Memory Stroll in September 2025. Rather than repeat that inconsistency, The Tees is treating this year’s event as a return of the format, with a new starting point at Hornby Park.
Last year’s walk also used a lantern-lit 5K route along the Seaton Carew seafront, making the event a recognisable part of the hospice’s growing community fundraising calendar.
