Ten Teesside University interior design students have taken their work from Middlesbrough to a month-long industry showcase in London.
The BA (Hons) Interior Design students were invited by EGGER London to exhibit during the first Clerkenwell Grad Week, an event created to connect emerging designers with professional networks.
The students presented their projects on EGGER’s life-size digital wall and pitched the thinking behind their designs to an audience that included professional interior designers and architects. Their work then remained on display throughout July.
The Teesside group included Kate Owen, Betsy Gowland, Sophie Turner, Emily Waters, Olivia Kime, Millie Blackburn, Joe Bell, Liyun Leanne Ma, Mana Sassani and Theo Todd O’Neill.
For the students, the invitation offered something beyond an exhibition credit: a chance to practise presenting work, make industry contacts and put Teesside’s emerging creative talent in front of working designers.
