A programme designed to help young people move into work, education or training has reopened across Tees Valley for a second year.

The Youth Guarantee Trailblazer is aimed at 18 to 21-year-olds who are not currently in education, employment or training. The first year attracted interest from more than 1,700 young people, according to .

Everyone taking part is offered a meeting with a dedicated local key worker, who can connect them with support such as careers advice, job-search help and training to build confidence and communication skills. Where it is suitable, the programme can also provide paid work experience with a local employer for up to five months.

The programme is led by Tees Valley Combined Authority and delivered with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and the area’s other . It is funded by the UK Government and applications are now open for the second year.
