New bus services introduced across Tees Valley in late September are providing additional links to hospitals, colleges, workplaces and town centres.
Stagecoach's new Service 31 connects Port Clarence, Billingham and the University Hospital of North Tees. The X60 links Teesside Park, Stockton, Elton, Long Newton, Teesside Airport and Darlington. Changes to Services 39 and 39A also improve connections between Middlesbrough, Park End, North Ormesby and James Cook University Hospital.
Arriva's revised Service 19 improves links between Darlington, Faverdale, West Park and Newton Aycliffe, including access to Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College. New Services 86 and 87 also connect rural communities between Darlington and Stockton.
The announced the rollout on 28 September 2026. More than £8.6 million is committed to supporting the wider bus network until at least March 2028, not just the new routes.
Some stopping arrangements have changed since launch, including for the X60 at Teesside Airport from 12 October. Check current operator timetables before travelling.
