People across Tees Valley are being invited to dig into the area’s past through two new events from Tees Archaeology this autumn.
One of the highlights will be Tees Archaeology Day on Saturday 3 October, running from 9.30am to 4pm in the Jim Cooke Suite at Stockton Central Library. The programme will include a closer look at the realities of life and death in medieval Hartlepool, drawing on archaeological from the area.
The event is part of Tees Archaeology’s wider work to connect local communities with discoveries made across Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. Finds can turn names, buildings and burial sites into a much richer picture of how people lived here centuries ago.
For anyone who has walked past an old churchyard, historic street or half-hidden ruin and wondered what came before, the sessions offer a chance to hear directly from the people studying those traces of Tees Valley history.
