As part of National Apprenticeship Week, Hall Construction has recruited 18-year-old Michael Stonehouse as an apprentice engineer. is currently working on the land redevelopment of the South Bank area at Teesworks, a major site undergoing transformation.
His appointment was by the Teesworks Skills Academy, an organisation established to connect local residents with employment opportunities on the site. The academy assisted in fast-tracking his Construction Skills Certification Scheme card, ensuring he was ready to begin work immediately.
Michael, who had previously sought work experience with the firm, will receive on-the-job training and mentorship from project engineers. He intends to work towards becoming a fully trained engineer over the next five years.
