A new initiative aims to help young professionals in the cultural and creative sectors find employment following the disruption of the pandemic.

A programme called Tees Valley Young Creatives: Class of 2020 has been launched to support early-career professionals in the cultural, creative, and hospitality sectors. The scheme provides guidance and networking opportunities for artists, performers, producers, and technicians affected by the pandemic.

Participants will gain access to masterclasses, webinars, and workshops led by industry experts, as well as a dedicated social media network. The is funded by a £1million recovery programme managed by the and delivered by ARC, the Stockton arts centre.

Annabel Turpin, Chief Executive of ARC, will chair the task force overseeing the support. The programme intends to help young people build professional relationships and secure employment within the region, ensuring that creative talent remains in the area.

The scheme follows efforts to address the challenges faced by young people in the , who have experienced limited opportunities for collaboration due to social distancing restrictions.
