The health and team at the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded the Maintaining Excellence at the 2019 Better Health at Work Awards. This marks a decade of continuous recognition for the trust's efforts to support staff wellbeing.
The award acknowledges a range of health initiatives within the hospital, including flu vaccination campaigns, menopause support groups, and weight management sessions. These programmes are intended to ensure staff are supported throughout their careers.
Jill McGee, who leads the trust's health and wellbeing agenda, credited the success to a team effort, including her recently retired colleague Maureen Wales. McGee noted that future plans for the year include additional fitness and health support groups for employees.
