A fund of more than £300,000 has been launched to help cultural organisations, including those in the performing arts, , film, and literature sectors, navigate the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. The Cultural Development and Innovation Fund aims to assist businesses in diversifying their operations, developing new products, and forging partnerships.

Grants are available based on business turnover. Organisations with a turnover exceeding £100,000 can apply for up to £25,000, while those with a turnover below this threshold are for grants of up to £10,000.

This funding follows earlier regional initiatives such as the Welcome Back and Back to Business programmes, which provided support for reopening venues and acquiring new equipment. A separate £1 million emergency apprenticeship fund has also recently reached its target of creating 100 roles for young people in the area.

Interested businesses can register their interest via the Tees Valley Business website. The deadline for expressions of interest is 30 October.
