A family-run business in Stockton is providing regular meals to staff at the University Hospital of North Tees as a gesture of support during the pandemic. Modern Persian Kitchen, led by Shary and Debbie Jahangiry alongside their daughter Natalie, has committed to delivering 120 meals twice weekly.
The relies on the generosity of the restaurant’s customers, many of whom donate ingredients to help prepare the traditional dishes. Each Wednesday and Friday, a volunteer driver from the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust collects the food from the Church Street premises for delivery to the hospital.
Debbie Jahangiry stated that the goal was to provide staff with a nutritious boost and to the work they are performing. Local staff have expressed their appreciation for the support, highlighting the quality of the food and the sense of community solidarity.
The restaurant encourages those interested in their work to visit their website for more information.
