Orange Pip Pride fills Baker and Bedford Streets with free workshops, music and local makers

Orange Pip Market’s August edition celebrates Pride in Middlesbrough today with a free programme of live performance, family workshops and more than 20 independent traders.

Baker and Bedford Streets will be full of colour, music and traders today as Orange Pip Market turns its August edition into a Pride celebration.

Orange Pip Pride runs from noon until 6pm on Saturday 29 August, with a free programme spread across the town-centre streets. The music stage includes THAT Clare, Dita Von Teesside, Janice D, Penni T, Gloria Love, Azula Bandit, Patti Boo Rae, Loren Heat and Beat Boutique.

Families can drop into free workshops between noon and 5pm. Curious Arts is bringing Proud People, rainbow headdress-making and storytelling activities, while Linx Youth Group will run a Getting to Know Myself session. Middlesbrough Circle of Magicians, face painting and Wheeley Proud are also on the programme.

Food and shopping are a big part of the Pip too. More than 20 traders are listed for the day, ranging from local street-food businesses and bakers to artists, makers, coffee roasters and mobile bars.

The market is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2026. Middlesbrough Council said earlier this summer that thousands attended the opening event of the anniversary season, which has continued to give independent businesses, musicians and creatives a regular town-centre platform.

Orange Pip Pride takes place on Baker and Bedford Streets, Middlesbrough, from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday 29 August. The family workshops are free and run until 5pm.
