Indie-Punk Explosion: Pet Needs Headline Special Show at Georgian Theatre Stockton

In support of their third album, Intermittent Fast Living, The Kids Are Solid Gold are bringing Colchester via Derby four-piece indie-punks Pet Needs to Stockton for a special show at the Georgian Theatre in April.

The band have gained attention for their relentless live shows and equally powerful studio output and the Stockton date is a unique chance to see both a band on the up and one starting to limber up in the region’s larger independent venues. In their own words, “four lads ready to create something huge, screaming stories of chance meetings, self-destruction, perceived freedom and woods.”

Further describing themselves as a “plucky little indie band throwing everything at infiltrating the mainstream for five minutes” Pet Needs should need no further introduction for fans of Fontaines DC, Gallows and The Jam. Acclaimed debut album Fractured Party Music in 2021 soon led to tours with Frank Turner and The Lottery Winners, as well as US runs with Skinny Lister and The Bouncing Souls, while follow-up album, Primetime Entertainment, was produced by Frank Turner.

Pet Needs have been praised by the likes of BBC Radio 6, Backseat Mafia, The Rodeo, Times Radio and NARC Magazine and cracked the boards at mainstay summer music festivals such as 2000 Trees, Dot To Dot and Bearded Theory. The band have recently been announced for Austin, Texas’ South By South West 2024.

Special guests on the night in Stockton are Generation Feral, the solo project of Cardiff/Essex multi-instrumentalist Izzy Liddamore, and radgie Tyne & Wear punks Irked.

The Georgian Theatre in Stockton-on-Tees is a mainstay of the town’s live music scene and has previously hosted indie-guitar legends such as Arctic Monkeys, Mystery Jets, The Kooks, James Blunt, John Cooper Clarke, The Cribs, Shaun Ryder, Clint Boon, Athlete, Jack Peñate, The Maccabees, The Charlatans, and The Chapman Family, as well as offering a vital platform for up-and-coming Tees Valley-based artists.
